This week, the online training talks about how to organize all your social networks.
The thing is getting bigger and bigger, more and more, I mean web 2.0 tools, isn't it? We can use bookmarks, blogs, twitter, flickr. So iGoogle is for organizing.
One can get some new gegdets for the account and make a new face for our own page - personalised page. I added a google map, weather, and inspiration of the day or something like that. It's fun but I find it's flawed as well. The weather gadget can't be defaulted in Australia but USA only, so what's the use? Some quatations only show half of the sentences and the other half couldn't be seen. Maybe I haven't done a good job?
There are other social network aggregators. Like 'Ping' and 'all my favs'. However I'm very reluctant to give out too much information about what I like to read or what I'm up to in a single site.

Have you tried just adding a very specific location for the weather - a city or a town should be enough to give you an Australian weather report. It is handy being aware of what web 2.0 organising tools are out there. You are right to say that you need to be careful about the information you make public.
ReplyDeleteI have tried and able to add my local weather as default.
